UP & AWAY
Self-initiated
Up & Away was the Nottingham Trent Graphic
Design Degree Show proposal in 2017. The theme was based on travel and the motion of moving upwards with particular reference to aeronautics.

The invites sent to industry/creatives would be delivered as a piece of paper which the receiver would have to fold themselves in order to read the details of the Degree Show. The invite would encourage the receiver to share their paper plane on the show’s social networking sites where a promotional video would be displayed too.

The show’s website works via the user always scrolling upwards to emphasise the concept of going up. Here, the user can look at the students' work; contact the show and find out any dates and venues where the show will also be hosted this year. An app was also designed to help spectators find their way to the show.

There would be signage on the floor which will guide attendees to certain areas of the show. This will be in the style of the paper plane creative with type to assist. There would be a 'postcard stand' where the designer's details can be found and an example of their work. Additionally, any animation created by the designers would be showcased by three screens on the wall in the centre the room (the 'Boarding lounge') with seats facing them and headphones.
